The Electronic Cigarette: The Smarter Choice
The first cigarette that was electronically operated was sold in China in the year 2004. This was a real breakthrough for a smoker that wanted or needed to quit, but needed to feel as if they were still smoking. Continue reading and discover how to use an electronic cigarette and the benefits of their use.
The US FDA considers the cigarette more than just a tobacco product and so it becomes subject to different laws. It falls subject to laws under the FDCA. This states that the product must have prior approval before being imported for sale.
It was overruled by one judge, who stated that it should be regulated in the same manner as other tobacco products. The US Court of Appeal found precedence to uphold the decision of the FDA, and so, the decision stands. Initially, nicotine patches and nicotine gum were regulated by the FDA in the same manner, and this is the precedent that allowed the judgment to stand. When importing is eventually easier, the product may become less costly to those who need it.
Some states actually thought about banning this type of cigarette. It is unclear as to which restrictions will continue to apply in which states at this time. The state of California vetoed a bill that would ban the sale from their state, and wanted only to apply tobacco ban restrictions for its sale and use as if it were a tobacco product.
Smoking cigarettes has been proven to cause lung cancer. Has it been proven that it is the nicotine in the cigarettes that causes the cancer or everything that is added to the tobacco when the cigarettes are being made. A list of five hundred and ninety-nine additives to cigarettes was published. All of the additives on the list had been approved for food, but none had been tested by burning for cigarette approval. Chemicals change when they are heated.
It is not disputed that nicotine is addictive. One benefit of this type of cigarette is to regulate the intake over a period of time. Many tobacco companies have been increasing the nicotine consumption without asking permission for years, by as much as almost two percent per year in fact between 98′ and 2005. Most nicotine is burned up, only a small amount is actually inhaled and becomes addictive per cigarette.
Smoking is not healthy, there is no way to make it healthy. People are always going to be looking at options of the lesser of to evils so to speak when trying to quit. No matter how one tries to quit, the drug nicotine will most likely be involved in some way. The benefit of the cigarette is that you can train yourself over a period of time to need it less psychologically, which is actually as hard if not harder to overcome than the nicotine addiction itself.
